Change, Change, Change. Is that all there is? (yes) With all of nature, and life in general constantly changing, some questions can naturally arise; “How much control do I have over the change that enters, reshapes, and often redirects my life? How much of the change in my life is decided/initiated by me? God/Goddess? or Chaos?” These kinds of questions will arise within many of our hearts and minds over the next year as Saturn, the planet of control, order, authority, reflection, and structure (in Virgo) opposes Uranus, the planet of change, the future, freedom, liberation, and enlightenment (in Pisces).
The exact oppositions will occur November 4, 2008, then again February 6th and September 9th of 2009. In so many ways this opposition brings to the foreground the ever existing battle between the forces of the past (Saturn) and those of the future (Uranus). We can see this being played out on the political stage with a young inspired candidate (Uranus) running against an old (the oldest ever) conservative (Saturn). In so many ways, this election is putting before each of us the questions of “What do we want to change, how much (and how bad) do we want to change it, and how fast can we change without becoming destabilized?” We’re getting pushed to the edge regarding our ability to change by forces beyond our personal control.
In our personal lives (reflected in our physical and emotional bodies), we are under tremendous pressure to survive, adapt, and evolve. We are pressed to make important decisions during this time, often without enough time to really feel good and solid in our choices. I assure you that this is all part of the spiritual game being played with our egos, and one trick to pull out of the bag is to step into the “observer” and watch this game being played. This is not to say that your life and your decisions now are not important, it IS to say that what is more important is witnessing HOW and WHY you choose what you choose! It is all about AWARENESS. It is all PROCESS. Take the pressure and burden down a notch through realizing that there is NO END to this!
You, as a conscious entity, will continue to exist (in one state of being or another) through all that is happening and is going to happen. YOU ARE IT. The rest of this is going on around you. You are visiting this planet, in its current state, at this time, no more, no less. Everything, yes EVERYTHING, is OK. Control what you can control (yourself, your mind, your thoughts and desires), and trust in the wisdom of Life (sometimes disguised as Chaos or Chance) to control the rest. Trust that Life is behind you, supporting you, and assisting you in better ways than you can possibly know at this point in time. RELAX.
While you are relaxing, you may wish to reflect back to 1988, as that was the beginning of the 40 year cycle you are now in the middle of. The opposition (or midpoint of the cycle), always brings a test as to the objective value of what was begun at the conjunction (1988). You may look at beliefs, attitudes, jobs, families, and relationships etc. that began at that time in order to see what needs to be altered or released for the past to ease into the future with less tension. Its time to revisit these areas of our lives, shake them up, and make room for the new by getting rid of the old! On a broader scale, this could range anywhere from revolution to physical earth changes (quakes).
Most importantly, it is a time to slow down and simplify your life as much as outside forces may be influencing or pressuring you not to. Both Uranus and Saturn operate on a mental level which wants things to go faster and faster and faster (than your feelings and body can really manage). Just slow it down and cut it out, until you are comfortable with the pace, people, and business (busy-ness) of your life and the self knowledge, consciousness, and courage needed to act will surely follow.
